About Us

Meet Sarah and Max McCoy, the heartbeat behind Pleasant View Farm Market. Raised on a foundation of love for agriculture, this dynamic duo, both alumni of West Virginia University with degrees in Animal and Nutritional Science, found their roots intertwined on Max's family farm. United by a shared passion for farming, they've not only preserved the rich history of Pleasant View Farm, dating back to 1847, but have also nurtured it into a flourishing legacy. Married on the farm and now raising their two beautiful children there, Sarah and Max embody the essence of family, tradition, and a genuine commitment to providing you with the best our farm has to offer.

About Our Farm

Pleasant View Farm has a rich history that can be traced back to 1847. Conrad and Edra McCoy purchased the farm in the 1940s. They started McCoy’s Dairy and raised their 8 children on the farm. Since then, it has been a team effort by the McCoy family to continue and grow Pleasant View Farm to what it is today. In 2008 we switched over to primarily beef production. Since then, we have offered freezer beef in bulk by the quarter, half, and whole. In 2019 we started selling beef by the individual cuts from the farm and added pork.

It has always been a dream of ours to have a farm market offering a variety of quality local products. In July of 2023 we started Pleasant View Farm Market to better be able to serve our beef and pork customers and help other farmers and small business owners market their products. We love getting to be the connection between our great customers and the awesome people that make the products we carry. The market has grown and now offers a variety of local and West Virginia items such as fresh dairy products, eggs, baked goods, honey, canned goods, candies, and much more!

What makes our beef better? We have several standards that we set for our beef before it makes it to your table. It all starts with selecting quality genetics to improve on traits such as marbling and tenderness. We then provide proper nutrition to raise and finish the beef to provide an ideal amount of flavor. Once the beef reaches their prime value they are ready for processing. Our processor is local and takes as much pride in the final product as we do.

Proper animal husbandry is at the forefront of every practice we do. Our animals follow strict veterinary and management protocols to allow us to produce the best product that we can. We do not use any antibiotics, growth hormones, dyes, or preservatives in our meat.
